Through uncomfortable times, we each need someone to walk with us as a guide to healing. We are not designed to do life in isolation and alone. We need to be together in community.
Steven’s heart is to be there for support and to offer valuable information so each person can make his/her own healthy choices. It is about engaging, equipping and supporting everyone through his/her journey of healing and growth. Steven's therapeutic work and passion focus primarily on helping individuals, marriages, families, and communities heal from the wounds of sexually addictive behaviors. He works primarily with those struggling with those behaviors, as well as with those who have been betrayed by the behaviors. The wounded relationships created in the men and women who are struggling can heal with respect and dignity. The legacy can be shifted. The ultimate vison is a healthy thriving marriage walking in truth with no secrets while reducing the impact on the family system, specifically children.
Steven also works with more generalized needs for growth. Healing from the pain of past developmental and relational trauma often brought into a relationship(s) through childhood, peers, or different authority figures is the foundation of his work. Interestingly, spiritual needs and abuse have been a place he has been asked for guidance given his education and experience. Steven's attachment-based, psycho-dynamic approach for those desiring to work through personal struggles, trauma, and abuse moves people toward healing with respect, trust, and emotional safety without judgement.
Steven also has a passion for training and educating through the supervision he provides to other therapists as well as presentations and speaking engagements he offers within the community. Developing strong, growing, and healing relationships through the healing of the individuals within communities is breathtaking.
